The Beatles - Dont Let Me Down

Asked a girl what she wanted to be
She said baby, can't you see
I wanna be famous, a star on the screen
But you can do something in between
Baby you can drive my car
Yes I'm gonna be a star
Baby you can drive my car
And baby I love you

I told a girl that my prospects were good
And she said baby, it's understood
Working for peanuts is all very fine
But I can show you a better time

Baby you can drive my car
Yes I'm gonna be a star
Baby you can drive my car
And baby I love you

Beep beep'm beep beep yeah

Baby you can drive my car
Yes I'm gonna be a star
Baby you can drive my car
And baby I love you

I told a girl I can start right away
And she said listen babe I got something to say
I got no car and it's breaking my heart
But I've found a driver and that's a start

Baby you can drive my car
Yes I'm gonna be a star
Baby you can drive my car
And baby I love you

Beep beep'm beep beep yeah
Beep beep'm beep beep yeah
Beep beep'm beep beep yeah
Beep beep'm beep beep yeah

They had kind of a Moody Blues feel to them in this song, especially in the breaks with the strings and the singers! I love this album, I have it on a very nice vinyl copy!

It's about the first 27 seconds of the song, and appears in small segments after the first verse, and chorus are performed.

I so love this song, and the early Bee Gees! Their first album amazed me. Before that I knew only stuff like Jive Talkin' and Stayin Alive. I was happy to discover the other side of Bee Gees, and I dig it!

I was always a fan of theirs and even more so for being nice to my dad when my dad worked as a bellhop at the Waldorf. Of course my dad was much older and they were always respectful young men as my dad would always say. My dad had coffee with Maurice Gibb not long after the passing of their brother Andy. May Andy and Maurice rest in peace. My dad liked all of them that's good enough for me.

This was the very first song I ever heard the Bee Gees sing. I was only thirteen years old then and have been a fan ever since!
